Decorating really puts your personality and style into a
ceremony, a personal theme, creating your unique touch.
Decorations at the ceremony and reception are a
great way to incorporate a colour theme and personalise
your day.
Chair covers, flowers on the table where the ceremony is
to be performed, depending on whether you’re going to
have formal or informal.
So it’s a great idea to give those little extra
touches as I always say, at a wedding what creates your
personal style is all about the five senses Sight,
Smell, Sound, Taste and Touch.
Flowers are fantastic; your florist will usually have to
visit the venue to help you make informed choices.
For example you don’t want arrangements on table
centres that are too large and obstruct peoples view.
Leave plenty of time for decorations to be organised so
that you’re not rushing around on your wedding morning,
and when decorating don’t forget to bring strings and
pins and tape and scissors and other useful supplies.
Some great ideas would be fairy lights, floral
arrangements, ivy sprays, garlands, hoops, arches and
wreaths, Japanese screens or helium balloons, and lots
and lots of tulle tied with ribbons.
Say for the centerpieces for the reception or for
the table where you plan to sign the marriage
certificate miniature topiaries or floating flowers,
scattered rose petals, a candelabra, scented or floating
candles, ice sculptures, oil lamps, you can even have
fish in a bowl (perhaps without the chips) or fruit in a
bowl, anything that will make your day especially ‘you’.
Here in the southern Riverina of NSW and the north east
of Victoria there is just an incredible number of venues
with different sceneries, from the mountains to the
weir, it’s just an amazing area for people to get
married in.
Perhaps even, in trying to find that perfect venue,
there is too many choices, so you will have to refine
your choice to what you really need and what you really
want.
There is so many restaurants, and you need to choose a
restaurant according to your style whether it be a
modern restaurant or a cozy country cottage.
Restaurants that are used to catering for large
functions may have set menus or package deals that are
on hand to assist your decision. Restaurants are ideal
for couples who love good food and wine, but don’t
forget, if the restaurant is fairly small or your guests
may be rowdy it may be a good idea to hire the entire
venue for the occasion.
And there are so many wineries around.
A
country estate is the perfect escape for stressed
couples who would like to marry among the vineyards.
Wineries usually have manicured gardens ideal for
wedding photos, breathtaking views and an on site
restaurant that can provide a menu and wine list for the
event. Often
at these places guests can stay for the weekend or you
can hire a bus from a nearby town and enjoy the wine
tasting of the region. They can be the perfect venue for
couples who appreciate a good bottle of wine, and have
the added bonus of the reception being in the privacy of
a secluded estate.
Wineries may be able to offer special deals on
alcohol for the reception.
This weeks ZIP or ZAP
For couples who have been living together and have
everything a “Money Tree” at the reception can be a
great idea.
Put the money towards the honeymoon.

Annie.
