Verses

Here's a just a few of the many beautiful wedding verses that can be implemented into your ceremony.

THE DANCE

A good relationship has a pattern like a dance, and is built on some of the same rules. The partners do not need to hold on tightly, because they move confidently in the same pattern, intricate but gay, and swift and free, like a country dance of Mozart's.

To touch heavily would be to arrest the pattern and freeze the movement, to check the endlessly changing beauty of its unfolding. There is no place here for the possessive clutch, the clinging arm, the heavy hand; only the barest touch in passing.

Now arm in arm, now face to face, now back to back- it does not matter which. Because they know they are partners moving to the same rhythm, creating a pattern together, and being invisibly nourished by it.

The joy of such a pattern is not only the joy of creation or the joy of participation, it is also the joy of living the moment. Lightness of touch and living in the moment are intertwined.

Anne Morrow, A Gift from the Sea.

How strange it is. So much thought, so much concern, so much anticipation, and yet, now that the moment has come, how very simple everything is. They love each other and they need each other, and they believe the only way this can make a good and full and happy life is in each other's company. And so they promise to love and honour one another forever. The simplest and the greatest, perhaps the most demanding of all vowels. -

Charlotte Gray

Where there is love, there is life.
Love is friendship that has caught fire.
It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence,
Sharing and forgiving.
It is loyalty through good and bad times.
It settles for less than perfection and
Makes allowances for human weakness.
Soul mates are people who bring out the best in you.
They are not perfect, but are always perfect for you.
Happiness cannot be travel
led to, owned, earned, worn or consumed.
Happiness is the spiritual experience
Of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.

Art of Marriage

A good marriage must be created
In marriage the little things are the big things
It is never being too old to hold hands
It is remembering to say 'I love you' at least once a day
It is having a mutual set of values and common objectives
It is standing together facing the world
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in friends and family
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
Gratitude in thoughtful ways
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow
It is not only marrying the right person
It is being the right partner

Just for you

I was blessed the day I met you,
Because I discovered what love was.
You make my life complete.
If I could, I would give you the world, but I can't.
What I can give you is my word,
That you will never be alone.
You will always be on my mind,
And in my heart,
Even if time sees us apart.
My life is all the more beautiful
Because you are in it.

I love you for so many reasons,
Large and small,
And all of them are wonderful.
I love you for all
The special qualities
That make you 'you', one of a kind,
The only one in the world for me.
I love you for the things you say
That bring such special meaning to my life,
And I love you for the silent times
When your eyes and your arms
Tell me all I want to know.
I love thinking of all the adventures
We may share, the places we may go,
The discoveries we may make together.
I love you because you know how
To bring out the best in me.
I love you…
Just because I do…
Because now, in a place
Where there was nothing before,
In the deepest part of my heart,
There is love.
